2021: Showing our Strength

Body
Almost a year ago I wrote a column called “2020: A Year that made us stronger,” which reflected on the many opportunities we had to make ourselves and our businesses better. The way that 2021 worked out allowed us to showcase that strength. The excitement of being able to be in-person for many events in 2021 revived our community. The Terrell Jubilee set a new attendance record and had the highest participation rate by vendors in its 40 year history. The 2021 Civic Auction used a new format and set records for attendance and the community support was unprecedented. It was great to see families enjoying the Tractor Show in June and the Stanley Ballard Sr. Christmas Parade in December.

TAKING FLIGHT

Body
Representatives from the No. 1 British Flying Training Museum offered a big “thank you” to the Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative Charitable Foundation after the organization recently delivered a $500 contribution. Executive Director Patrick Hotard, right, accepted the donation on behalf of the museum from TVEC Energy Management Advisor Chris Walker. The donation was made possible by TVEC’s Operation Round Up initiative. Operation Round Up is a voluntary program that allows TVEC members to round up their monthly electric bills to the next whole dollar amount. That rounded up portion goes to the TVEC Charitable Foundation to make grants to local, charitable organizations. Museum officials also thanked TVEC customers for their generosity.
