The 80th anniversary of V-E Day, the end of World War II in Europe, will be celebrated on May 10 and you’re invited! The free event will be from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum, 119 Silent Wings Blvd. in Terrell.

Did you know it took five separate surrender ceremonies to bring an end to World War II in Europe 80 years ago? May 8, 1945 is recognized as the official V-E Day (Victory in Europe Day) which will be marked by a presentation by author/historian Terrance Furgerson, PhD of Collin College at the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum, 119 Silent Wings Blvd., in Terrell at 7 pm. The program is free and open to the public though seating is limited.

Criminal District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley announced an update on the Gloverappeal.Gloversoughtan appeal to overturn his sentence. The case was reversed by the Dallas Courts of Appeal. The District Attorney’s Office was not satisfied with the court’s opinion and requested review by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, who today reversed the Dallas court of appeals’ judgement and reinstated the judgement of the trial court of LIFE of Michael Donell Glover, 64, for Aggravated Robbery, a first-degree felony offense.

Bringing the Boys Back Home is part of international commemorations for British servicemen buried in the U.S. during World War II. Volunteers, partnered with the British Flying Training School Museum in Terrell, gathered at Oakland Memorial Park honoring veterans to reunite 20 British servicemen buried in the cemetery with their families in the U.K. Volunteers care for the graves and respectfully create non-destructive gravestone rubbings.

Terrell ISD named their 2025 Terrell High School Prom Court. These Tigers are ready to dance the night away this Saturday at prom. The Prom Queen Court is Markeita Shaw, Miranda Torres, Alejandra Rojo (not pictured), Brianna Strambler and Olivia Johns. The Prom King Court is Ibrahim Fofanah, Luis Ortuno, Jovani Tamayo, Adan Cervantes and Cameron Kong.
