NUCOR DONATES FOOD AT TURKEY DRIVE

Members of the Nucor Buildings Group dropped off 10 boxes of Turkey and fixings plus 10 additional turkeys only for those in need at the Share Center on Nov. 22. The boxes contained cans of corn, cans of green beans, cranberry sauce, instant mashed potatoes, boxes of stuffing, a turkey, rolls and gravy mix. Those present for the drop-off were Nucor members Luis Seeders, Kitty Brin, Efrain Escobedo, Kyle Robertson, Tina Richardson and Share Center’s Lynn Meador.

The Gift of Hope seeking donations

The Gift of Hope is a partnership between REACH Child Placing Agency and local churches; the Terrell, Forney and Kaufman police departments; the Terrell, Forney and Kaufman fire departments; Kaufman County Sheriffs’ Department; Kaufman County Constables; local city and Kaufman County elected officials; child advocate attorneys; the Department of Family Protective Services; and various community businesses and organizations in an effort to restore faith to foster children and bio-families in crisis during the holiday season.

TISD hosts inaugural Pearls for Girls Breakfast

The Inaugural Pearls for Girls Breakfast was a morning to remember. Terrell ISD was incredibly grateful to the women of Terrell who came together to uplift their sixth-grade female scholars Nov. 14. Each young lady left with a new pearl necklace and a powerful reminder of the community cheering her on. Kaufman County District Attorney Erleigh Wiley shared her pearls of wisdom and encouragement.
