Social Security announces 8.7 percent benefit increase

Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for approximately 70 million Americans will increase 8.7 percent in 2023, the Social Security Administration announced Oct. 13. On average, Social Security benefits will increase by more than $140 per month starting in January.

Church to host community outreach event

The Worldwide Apostolic Ministries Church of Jesus Christ will be rolling out the red carpet to the Terrell community during the week ahead, hosting a community outreach event from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Oct. 22 at their Terrell campus located at 701 N. Rockwall Avenue.
