Lady Tigers fall to Canton, 59-49

The Terrell Lady Tigers crossed paths with a familiar foe this week, taking on the Canton Eaglettes in the bi-district round for the second consecutive season. Canton would play the role of spoiler once again in the matchup, downing the Lady Tigers by a 59-49 score to end Terrell’s season.

Tigers tame Raiders, 63-45

The Terrell Tigers put the finishing touches on District 13-4A play last week, clashing with the Sunnyvale Raiders in a key showdown. Terrell would capitalize on a strong start in the contest, outpacing their opponent in each of the first three quarters on their way to a 63-45 win.

The North Texas Longhorns competed in an indoor track meet at the University of Houston. The 8U Girls won gold in the 4x200 relay (Crockett, Dabney, Cosby, Lampkin-Maxie). The 10U Girls won silver in the 4x200 relay (Johnson, Davenport, Mitchell, McCain). Kyren Dabney won gold in the 800 meters and the 400 meters. Amiracle Dabney won silver in the 200 meter dash. Head coach Keith Willis stated, “We took 20 kids to Houston and 15 made finals. I felt this was a great start to the upcoming season and gave us a chance to experience indoor competition.”

Tigers inch closer to playoffs

The Terrell Tigers played host to Caddo Mills Foxes on Tuesday night, looking to secure a key district win in their quest for a spot in this year’s 4A UIL Playoffs. Terrell would put together one of its best efforts of the season in the contest, gradually pulling away from the Foxes with strong play on both ends of the court to score a 55-39 win.

Family, friends, teammates and members of the Terrell Tiger coaching staff joined standout student-athlete Malachi Williams as he signed his letter of intent to play football collegiately at Southwest Oklahoma State University beginning in the fall. Williams was a mainstay in the Terrell lineup in recent seasons, earning Second Team All-District recognition from competing coaches for his performance during the 2021 season. Courtesy photo

Smith hits for 30 as Lady Tigers roll

The Terrell Lady Tigers delivered two of their most impressive showings of the season last week, downing both the Nevada Community Lady Braves and Quinlan Ford Lady Panthers in dominant fashion. Terrell opened its week in dominant fashion, getting all the offense they would need in the first half on their way to a 78-31 rout of the Nevada Community Lady Braves.

Tigers continue playoff chase

The Terrell Tigers opened the month of February on a winning note, defending their home court with a 53-32 victory over the visiting Quinlan Ford Panthers. Terrell played well throughout the contest, outpacing the Panthers in all four quarters on their way to the 21-point win.
