TISD staff to receive pandemic bonuses

For going “above and beyond” during the COVID-19 pandemic, employees of the Terrell ISD will be awarded a bonus of between $300 and $1,000, the school board decided Monday night. The one-time, supplemental payment will have a roughly $360,000 impact on the district’s budget, according to Tonya Tillman, the TISD’s deputy superintendent for business and operations.

Mayor Rick Carmona proclaimed Tuesday, May 11 as City of Terrell Police Officer Recognition Day and called upon citizens to thank the city’s men and women in blue. The proclamation was made in association with National Police Week, in which the contributions and sacrifices of the police officers in service to their communities is recognized.
