Republicans honor West at Juneteenth event in Crandall

CRANDALL – Republicans from Kaufman County as well as points across Texas met to honor retired Lt. Col. Allen West with the first annual William Madison McDonald Award at the Rusted Rail Event Venue in Crandall on June 19.

Terrell officers to conduct Citizens Police Academy

The Terrell Police Department intends to conduct a Citizens Police Academy with the goal of educating the public and building relationships with the citizenry. It is hoped that those completing the academy will be able to serve as informal liaisons between the public and the Police Department.

TISD grapples with concerns over graduation venue

When the Terrell ISD shifted plans and held its June 4 graduation at the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center instead of spacious Memorial Stadium, a lot of folks were disappointed at losing the opportunity to see their favorite graduate walk the stage.

Jim Weems, of Terrell, passed away April 10, 2021 into the presence of his Lord and Savior. Jim was born July 21, 1944 in Lufkin to Jim and Gladys (Jones) Weems, both of whom greeted him in Heaven along with his brother Roy Weems and grandson Levi Hamby. Jim was a man of many interests and talents.
