Hundreds of visitors made their way to Nash Street Nov. 12 to participate in the inaugural Terrell British Bash Celebration and Christmas Market. Hosted by the City of Terrell and Terrell Chamber of Commerce, the British Bash included local shops, arts and crafts vendors, food vendors a Kids Zone, and live music and entertainment headlined by A Hard Night’s Day.

NFPA urges extra caution when preparing your Thanksgiving feast

As Thanksgiving nears, the National Fire Protection Association urges added caution when preparing the holiday feast, as Thanksgiving Day represents the leading day of the year for home cooking fires. Between three and four times as many cooking fires occur on Thanksgiving Day as a typical day of the year.

Forney Area Networking Group to host charity event

The Forney Area Networking group, FANG, is holding a charity event on December 6th at Community Life in Forney, 204 FM-1641 at 6:30 p.m. Organizers are working with Selah Creek, located in Terrell, to raise funds for their efforts. This is a ticketed event, entertainment and dinner will be provided.

Dog adoptions temporarily suspended at Kaufman County Center

Dog adoptions at the Kaufman County Pet Adoption Center were recently suspended until further notice due to virus. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, canine distemper is “a contagious and serious disease caused by a virus that attacks the respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems of puppies and dogs.” Symptoms of canine distemper include a discharge from the eyes, fever, nasal discharge, coughing, lethargy, reduced appetite and vomiting.
