Six years have passed since a drunk driver killed Azeza Salama’s fiancé and sent her and her two children to the hospital, but her memories of the crash remain as vivid as the day it happened. As people celebrate the holidays with friends and family, TxDOT wants stories such as Azeza’s to remind everyone to always find a sober ride.

The No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum hosted its annual Remembrance Day event Nov. 13 at Oakland Memorial Park. The ceremony recognizes the British cadets that died in plane crashes while training at the Terrell Municipal Airport. Story and additional photos on 2A.

Terrell ISD earns top TEA rating

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) announced final financial accountability ratings for more than 1,200 school districts and charter schools across the state, with 85 percent earning the highest rating possible for 2021-‘22.

Terrell outlasts Texas High in OT thriller

The Terrell Tigers have been well tested in recent seasons, routinely taking on some of the state’s top programs during both district and non-district play. That experience proved to be invaluable last week as Terrell rallied from a touchdown deficit on three separate occasions to score a 28-21 overtime win over Texas High Nov.

Saballero named First Team All-District

The Terrell volleyball program experienced expected growing pains throughout the 2022 season, routinely hitting the court against programs that have been part of the 5A landscape for years. That inconsistency carried over into District 14-5A play where the Lady Tigers were paired with a slate of talented opponents that included Forney, Red Oak, Lancaster, Crandall, Ennis and Corsicana.
