The Terrell Lady Tigers continued to chase their first district win of the season last week, crossing paths with talented opponents from Corsicana and Forney in District 14-5A play. Terrell first hit the field Corsicana squad also represented by the Lady Tiger mascot.

Kaufman County Extension Agent The Kaufman County Extension Office of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be holding a Private Applicators training for all area agricultural producers May 19 at the Kaufman County Fairgrounds (4001 Washington, Kaufman, Texas).

The 30th Upper Sabine Cattleman’s Cow Calf Clinic was held April 14 at the Gabriel Ranch owned by Ron and Lana Gabriel. This long-standing beef cattle educational program was planned and carried out by the Extension Livestock and Forage Committees from Van Zandt, Rains and Kaufman Counties.

A Forney area man was taken into custody last week following an investigation related to a March incident at a local retailer. According to information released by the Terrell Police Department April 17, officers were called to the Ross Dress for Less March 23 in reference to “an Invasive Visual Recording of a customer.” The department’s narrative of the incident and subsequent arrest stated, “The customer reported that while at Ross cashing out at the register, a male individual slid his phone under her dress.

The Daughters of the British Empire in the State of Texas and No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum have announced that they will be cohosting a one-of-a-kind tea to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III from 2:30-4:30 p.m. May 6.

For over 20 years, Adopt a Block Terrell in conjunction with the North Texas Food Bank and Feed America has worked tirelessly to close the gap on hunger by providing food to disadvantaged people in and around the Terrell area.

The E! Terrell Entertainment Series concludes this year’s highly successful 20th anniversary concert season with the renowned Side Street Strutters at the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. onApril 27.

Why do you feel that you are the best candidate for this position? I am running for Terrell City Council District 5 to leave Terrell in better position for generations to come. Growing up here, a majority of my peers couldn’t wait to get out of Terrell, for myself, I chose to stay and invest in Terrell.

In observance of National Volunteer Month in April, the Young Marines has named Heartland resident Jacqueline Bracey as Young Marines Adult Volunteer of the Year for Division 4. She is the Unit Commander for the Kaufman County East Young Marines who meet in Crandall.
