Texas A&M-Commerce and the Terrell Police Department have established a preferred educational pathway for the city’s police officers to earn a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with an emphasis in law enforcement leadership. The fully online, competency-based program is offered through the College of Innovation and Design. Through the partnership, eligible officers receive direct admission to the program. Students can transfer up to 84 credit hours of community college, WECM, military or other college credit toward the graduation requirements. Courses are offered in seven-week terms with the ability to leverage prior knowledge to accelerate through coursework, expediting the graduation timeline. Officers also benefit from a dedicated success team that provides advising, mentoring and academic tracking to ensure a smooth educational experience.

July 20: Terrell Animal Shelter will be hosting a microchipping event at the old Rue 21 building at The Shops at Terrell located at 301 Tanger Drive from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 20: The Lyric Art Café and Venue will be hosting the Terrell Steampunk Soiree at 115 W.

Steven Travis, a hunting guide with Three Curl Outfitters of Waxahachie, will review bird and deer hunting rules for this season as well as the proper care and maintenance of personal auto and pump shotguns at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3.

The North Texas Antique Tractor and Engine Club’s Show, Pull and Swap meet has been rescheduled and will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 14 and 15 at Ben Gill Park in Terrell. The show hours are Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The City of Terrell, in partnership with The Terrell Chamber of Commerce, will host the third annual Terrell Mural Walk on October 5, 2024. The Mural Walk will be held in historic downtown Terrell from 10 a.m.
