Terrell Mayor Rick Carmona and Council member Mayrani Velazquez toured the African American History Monument on the Texas State Capitol grounds while in Austin for Kaufman County Day on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Terrell Kiwanis hosts annual Pancake Day

The Terrell Kiwanis Club hosted their annual Pancake Day on Feb. 25 at Rockwall and Brin Church of Christ. Pancakes, sausage and coffee served all day long -- breakfast, lunch and dinner. Kiwanis Club members spent the day serving the community and collecting funds to support the children in the Terrell community. Every dollar raised stays in Terrell to benefit K- Kids, Builders Club, Key Club and Circle K. Pancake Day has been named in honor of late member Denny Rohe, who was chairman of the event for over 20 years.
Terrell HS alum and wife create scholarship endowment

Richmond receives $40,000 scholarship

Terrell High School senior and dual credit student Amaya Richmond was recently awarded a $40,000 scholarship to join the prestigious Honors Program for Pre-law at the University of Texas at Tyler on Thursday, Feb. 13.
Expelled THS student sentenced to 42 years for murder

On February 13, 2025, a Kaufman County jury found Darren Coleman, guilty of murder. Coleman had previously attended Terrell High School in 2023, prior to his shooting and killing of Damaria Jackson, 17.
Terrell FFA participates at Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo
