Breezy Hill splash pad construction begins

The City of Terrell announced that construction on the new Breezy Hill splash pad began Tuesday, May 11. The new community amenity is slated to open later this summer according to the City of Terrell.

Vargas takes spot on Terrell City Council

editor@terrelltribune.com The Terrell City Council swore in their newest council member on Tuesday, May 5 as Jorge Vargas took his oath of office. Vargas takes over District 3 for Mayrani Velazquez, who announced earlier this year her intention to not seek re-election.

Terrell ISD hosted their Annual Pastors’ Luncheon at the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center on May 7. Pastors, ministers and other faith leaders from across our community gathered to enjoy a complimentary lunch and connected over ways we can continue supporting and uplifting our students and families together.

This past week found your outdoor scribe doing some rather mundane things such as yard work, vegetable gardening and repairs around the old cabin. Oh, I also wrapped up a couple of magazine articles. I always enjoy sharing my adventures with all of you in this column but to be perfectly honest, not nearly as much as my ‘field work’ hunting and fishing which is an iatrical part of any good outdoor column. If you’re like me, you much prefer reading about an adventure that you can also partake.
