Man sentenced to life for murder of store owner

District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley has announced that 22-year-old Jamarco Jakeith Blanton has been sentenced to life without parole in the Texas penitentiary for the offense of capital murder, following a two-day trial before the Honorable Judge Shelton Gibbs in the 422nd District Court of Kaufman County. Judge Gibbs pronounced sentence after a Kaufman County jury found Blanton guilty of capital murder for the May 12, 2023, killing of 82-yearold Terrell convenience store owner Fahed Fatayri, lovingly known in the community as “Pops.”

I’ve got several topics I wish to share with you this week including a couple of tasty outdoor recipes as well as a fishing pattern that is currently underway on a lake near you. THE SHAD SPAWN TRIGGERS GOOD BANK FISHING: Shad are currently spawning which triggers one of the best shallow water bites of the year for several species.

KCSO recovers stolen construction equipment

editor@terrelltribune.com The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office recovered stolen construction equipment on Saturday, April 12. Deputies responded to a report of a possible stolen skid loader from a construction site on Farm-to-Market Road 148 according to the Sheriff’s Office.
