The Terrell Police Department came out victorious over the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office in the Tug-o-War at the Terrell Jubilee April 27. .

The Northeast Texas Press Association (NETPA) recognized Van Zandt Newspapers L.L.C. with a number of awards during the 98th Annual NETPA Convention’s Better Newspaper Contest held April 25-27 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Granbury.

In preparation for America’s upcoming 250th birthday, the local Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) chapter, King’s Fort, has created a traveling trunk for use in Terrell schools. The “Celebrating the Stars & Stripes trunk includes an outline for lesson planning, reproduction items from the 18th century, photos of Colonial dress, activities and games.

Rotary Club of Terrell delivered cookies made by its members, cups from Starbucks, courtesy of Starbucks of Terrell on Highway 34 and cookies donated by Terrell’s own Whisked Away to both the Terrell PD Dispatchers as well as the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers as part of a service project April 18. NTBHA is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) with partner organizations Child and Family Guidance Center, Homeward Bound, and Southern Area Behavioral Healthcare. NTBHA provides quality mental and behavioral health services for individuals, regardless of their ability to pay, place of residence and/or their experience of homelessness. NTBHA will waive or reduce fees for those experiencing financial hardship, according to equitable use of the sliding fee discount schedule provided by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

The City of Terrell and the Terrell Chamber of Commerce will be holding their annual Taco Festival in Historic Downtown Terrell, Saturday, May 4. The festival will be from 11 a.m.
