The non-profit horse rescue, The Silver Lining Training Center in Terrell, had amazing results from its equestrian team this season in local shows here in Texas. One of these shows is held right here in Terrell at the Legends area by the Lone Star Arabian horse club.

City of Terrell celebrates Arbor Day

Mayor Rick Carmona and Terrell City Council members issued this year’s proclamation establishing November 5, 2024, as “Texas Arbor Day” in the City of Terrell. The proclamation was presented to representatives of the Terrell Garden Club and accepted by Tricia Whitley and Ann Embrey during the regular city council meeting. On Friday, Nov. 7, Riter C. Hulsey Public Library hosted a public presentation honoring Texas Arbor Day. Dana Hunt of the Kaufman County Master Gardeners presented a video on the importance of trees in our community. Tricia Whitley of the Terrell Garden Club assisted with a craft demonstration and the planting of saplings into small pots by the children who attended this program. A painting of a tree is on display at the Hulsey Library for patrons to add their fingerprints as ‘leaves’ on the tree.

Information submitted by Criminal District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley's office Criminal District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley announced the conviction of Keith Richard Nemcek, age 45, for Aggravated Sexual Assault, a first-degree felony offense. On July 19, 2023, Terrell Police Department received a 911 call from a concerned good Samaritan in the city of Terrell, Texas who had located an injured female in his driveway in need of help.

Sansom appointed Terrell Police Chief

Public Information Officer City Of Terrell Terrell City Council unanimously accepted Terrell City Manager Mike Sims' recommendation to appoint Arley Sansom as Police Chief and Director of Animal Control during their meeting on Tuesday. Sansom, who has been with the department for 37 years, had been serving as the Interim Police Chief since the retirement of Police Chief Ken McKeown.
