BFTS Museum to show WWII era films

For their March 30 free, public program at 7 p.m., the folks at the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum will step back in time with two World War II era films – “The Story of Willow Run” and “What Happened to Sugar.” Both films to be shown in the hour-long program are typical of the documentaries created to aid the war effort.

Voter registration deadline draws closer

Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson reminds all eligible Texas voters to make sure they are registered to vote by Thursday, April 6 to vote in the May 6 local elections across the State of Texas. Not all local governmental entities will be holding elections on May 6, and Texas voters should check with their county elections office for more information on which municipalities, school districts, and other local political subdivisions will be holding elections.

Council reviews fire department’s 3-year strategic plan

The Terrell City Council continued to lay the groundwork for the city’s ongoing population its three-year plan to keep pace with the needs of the local citizenry. TFD Chief Shane LeCroy served as the primary presenter on the topic, taking city officials through a quick review of recent trends before turning his attention to the next three years.

City sees sales tax revenue increase

The Texas State Comptroller’s Office continued to dole out good news to Kaufman County cities this week, announcing that for the second consecutive month, 11 out of 13 local entities had seen sales tax revenue gains when comparing against totals from the same calendar month from the previous year.
