Terrell Mayor Rick Carmona traveled to Austin for the second time in as many weeks, following up his previous visit for Kaufman County Day by testifying before a State Senate Finance Committee Feb. 21.
The Terrell Police Department and Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office helped to bring a high-speed chase that began in Rains County to a safe end late last week. According to a community notice posted by Rains County Sheriff Michael Hopkins, deputies from his department were asked to respond to an assault family violence.

The Terrell Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Clay Shoot March 10 from 11:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Texas Gun Ranch in Terrell. The Terrell Chamber is a non-profit organization and all funds raised go back into supporting local businesses and the community through scholarships and events.
More than 200 dads attended W.H. Burnett Early Childhood Center’s “Bring Dad to School Day” event Feb. 9. Dads had the opportunity to observe their child’s classroom, participate in hands-on learning activities and watch their little one shine in the classroom. Dads then moved to the cafeteria where they learned what an important role they play in their little Tiger’s learning experience. Terrell ISD officials stated, “It was such an incredible, special morning and we thank all of the many daddy’s, father’s, papa’s and padres who showered the campus with their support.”
