BIG BOAR I HAVE KNOWN

This week, I’ll tell you about the encounters I’ve had through my many years with a few really big boar, animals weighing in excess of 250 pounds. I can feel the adrenaline pumping as I mull over these past hunts.
Luke mostly targets smaller ‘eater’ wild hogs these days, but through the years, he has encountered some monster boar. In this week’s column, he gives accounts of some of the hunts. Photo by Luke Clayton

City celebrates National Constitution Week

The Kings Fort Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution gathered at Terrell City Hall on Sept. 17 for the Annual Bells Across America ceremony celebrating the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787. Mayor Rick Carmona opened the event with a proclamation in recognition of the event. The celebration culminated with the ringing of bells at 3 p.m.

Terrell honors fallen at 9/11 ceremony

The Terrell Fire Department hosted their annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at Fire Station No. 1 along with members of the Terrell Police Department, Terrell Police Chaplain Gary Weems, City staff and members of the Terrell City Council to honor those who lost their lives during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
