Terrell ISD had special celebrations as they surprised each of their Teachers of the Year across all campuses on April 8. The district celebrated and honored each of the award recipients across all seven campuses here in Terrell.

Heartland Chess Club celebrates 7th anniversary Heartland Chess Club recently celebrated their seventh anniversary while also hosting a chess tournament in mid-September. Jaamal Rudolph was this year’s Heartland Chessmaster. Jaamal received a $100 gift card. Ken Patterson was the runner- up and received a $50 gift card. Abram Meras was this year’s Junior Chessmaster. Abram received a $100 gift card. Aaruti Mancik was the runner-up and he received a $50 gift card.

Summer is winding down, and as the new school year approaches, now is the perfect time to make online safety a priority. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is here to help parents and educators create a secure and positive digital experience for children.

Terrell ISD Special Olympics students were treated to their annual fun-filled day at Film Alley complete with pizza, bowling and arcade games on May 15. The celebration was even sweeter as students who have participated in Special Olympics at Terrell High School for two years received their wellearned letterman jackets.

Congratulations to the Poetry Community Christian School Valedictorian and Salutatorian for 2025. Valedictorian: Sarah Foreman, PCCS Valedictorian, graduates with a GPA of 4.27.

Terrell High School hosted their annual College Signing Day on Wednesday, May 7. Students showed off their pride for their college, trade school or upcoming military service.

editor@terrelltribune.com The Terrell ISD School Board held their monthly board meeting on Monday, April 21. The school board honored their Tigers of the Month and recognized teachers and staff that went above and beyond to support the success of the district.

For Lynn Vaughan, the decision to participate in Terrell ISD’s Grands on the Go! program was a no-brainer. After all, her experience as a teacher for nearly 40 years and her role as a “Granna” to her grandchildren more than qualified her for this volunteer opportunity.
