City of Terrell takes win over Terrell State Hospital

The City of Terrell City Slickers team won the first annual co-ed flag football game Nov. 15 at Tiger Stadium between the City of Terrell and Terrell State Hospital Tigers, 25-13. Those that attended the event got into the gates with an unwrapped toy to be given to children in the community this Christmas.

The Terrell Chamber of Commerce’s Cash Mob was on hand to surprise Catarina Craft Nov. 16. Catarina has a variety of hand-made products such as soap, creams, candles and more. Visitors can stop into her shop located at 118 E. Moore Ave.

Terrell ISD Superintendent named Ambassador of the Year

Terrell ISD Superintendent Dr. Georgeanne Warnock was named an “Ambassador of the Year” by the Friends of Texas Public Schools organization. A few weeks ago, Dr. Warnock was honored at a dinner where she accepted the award on behalf of the 5,250 Terrell ISD students and 680 staff members along with the 5.5 million Texas public school children who wake up every day and walk through the doors of a public school. Members of the School Board and Administration were also there to witness this wonderful honor.

McAlister’s Deli opens in Terrell

McAlister’s Deli opened its doors to the City of Terrell Friday, Nov. 17 with a few camped out to be the first in the door. McAlister’s also hosted a free dinner the night before for military, first responders, nurses and more.

Members of Trinity Valley Community College Encore Singers had the opportunity to perform at the East Texas Arboretum and Botanical Society Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 10. Under the direction of Kern Railsback, members of the Encore Singers performed “Star Spangled Banner”, “You’re a Grand Old Flag”, “Taps” and more.

Terrell High School hosted their Veterans Program at the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center Tuesday, Nov. 14.
