American Angus Association announces new members

James and Bryanna Edwards, both of Terrell, are new members of the American Angus Association, reports Mark McCully, CEO of the national breed organization headquartered in Saint Joseph, Missouri. The American Angus Association, with more than 25,000 active adult and junior members, is the largest beef breed association in the world.

State sales tax revenue totaled $3.6 billion in November

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced Dec. 1 that state sales tax revenue totaled $3.56 billion in November, 19.4 percent more than in November 2020. The majority of November sales tax revenue is based on sales made in October and remitted to the agency in November.

The Home Depot in Terrell had the opportunity to award a non-profit organization within the community with a $1,000 grant. They chose to surprise Dwight Malone and the students and staff of the Child and Adolescent Center at the Terrell State Hospital as the recipients of their generosity. The staff at Home Depot have worked with Mr. Malone in the past to provide support building ramps and addressing other campus needs. Local sales tax revenues climb 28.84 percent
