For the second year in a row, the Terrell High School Debate Team will be competing at the State UIL competition. Following six hours of debate against 18 competitors at the UIL Region Congressional Debate Tournament held on November 10, Terrell High School students John Ory and Dalila Ramirez both secured spots at the State tournament to be held in Austin this coming January.

The Terrell public will have its first opportunity to see Trinity Valley Community College’s Health Sciences Center in Terrell on Dec. 8 from 1-5 p.m. during its 19th Biennial Red Stocking Tea and Open House.

On Nov. 11, the talents of high school writers from five different Kaufman County High Schools came to life through words as 32 students wrote about “What a Veteran is to Me.” The top three winners of the essay contest were announced at the Nov. 11 Veterans Day Ceremony at the Kaufman County Veterans Memorial Park, and their winning and moving essays were read aloud.
