Students interested in the automotive industry invited to free program at Texas Motorplex on October 10 prior to big weekend of NHRA Racing

Students and teachers from throughout D/FW will have a unique opportunity to explore careers in the automotive industry in the ideal setting, Texas Motorplex, on the morning before the track hosts day one of the Texas NHRA FallNationals on Friday October 10, 2025. The event is hosted by the 2025 NHRA Youth & Education Services (YES) Program, a nationwide initiative designed to inspire students to explore rewarding careers in the automotive industry at no cost to participants.

Housing development sets sights on Terrell

editor@terrelltribune.com Plano-based Main Square Development unveiled their plans for a large-scale master- planned community in the City of Terrell. Terra Nova, the 1,531acre community project located bear Griffith Road and County Road 245, would bring 3,400 single-family homes, 1,200 multi-family apartments and 261 fourplex-style units into Kaufman County, which is the second-fastest growing county in the United States.

Monte Carlo Night set for Sept. 20

The BFTS Museum’s annual fundraiser – Monte Carlo Nite – is set for 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Terrell Platinum Ford Showroom. Tickets are $100 per person and are available at the museum’s website www.bftsmuseum.org or via members of the board of directors.

Terrell Mural Walk scheduled for Sept. 20

sharon@terrelltexas.com The Terrell Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Terrell, is excited to announce the 4th Annual Terrell Mural Walk, taking place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Since I was a youngster growing up in very rural Red River County in Northeast Texas, I’ve felt a need to have a ‘camp,’ someplace away from home where I could occasionally go and retreat to what substitutes for ‘the wild.’
Luke has always had a ‘camp’ of some sort on leased land or around a lake. These days, this little cabin serves as ‘headquarters’ for many of his outdoor adventures. Photo by Luke Clayton
