TERRELL ISD/FACEBOOK It's a great day to be a Terrell Tiger! New teacher orientation is underway, and we could not be more excited about our newest Tigers joining the TISD family!.

The order has been drawn for eight proposed amendments to the much-amended Texas Constitution that will appear on the Nov. 2 ballot. The proposed amendments were approved by at least two thirds of both houses of the state Legislature. According to the Austin American-Statesman, they include:

August 7, 1852 On this day in 1852, Alexander Cockrell paid $7,000 for the portion of the John Neely Bryan homestead that included the Dallas townsite and the Trinity River ferry concession.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.39 billion in July, 13.5 percent more than in July 2020. The majority of July sales tax revenue is based on sales made in June and remitted to the agency in July.“

The Kaufman County Commissioners Court continued to inch closer towards its adoption of a budget and tax rate for the upcoming fiscal year, setting up public hearings at its most recent meeting held Tuesday morning.

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced July 30 that U.S. Army Air Forces Tech. Sgt. Frank A. Norris, 23, of Quinlan, Texas, killed during World War II, was accounted for Jan. 19, 2021.

First responders from Terrell Fire Department’s Engine 611 are credited with saving the life of 68-yearold Terrell resident, Andrew Truett on July 4, 2021. TFD’s Engine 611 received a call at 2:14 p.m.
