Fair St., will be the site of a Pfizer vaccination clinic from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event is open to both adults and children, with shots administered by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 817-264-4931.

Don’t Mess With Texas Scholarship contest now open

The Don’t Mess With Texas Scholarship Contest is now accepting applications for the 2022 school year. Any Texas high school senior currently attending public, private or home school and planning to attend an accredited Texas college or university in the Fall 2022 semester is eligible to apply.

TVCC students participate at Cattleman’s Congress

Trinity Valley Community College competed in the 2022 Cattleman’s Congress Livestock Show in Oklahoma City Jan. 3-6. The five members of the TVCC Beef Cattle Show Team were involved in the Open Charolais Cattle division and competed well.

Debate Team advances to Austin

With a 1st, 3rd and 5th place finish, Terrell Debate will be headed to Austin to compete at the UIL State Congressional Debate Tournament in January. Congratulations to these outstanding students. Welding students excel at competition

AT LEFT: Tyler Cruz and Alexis Escobedo receive instruction recently from Terrell ISD welding instructor Bradley Daniels, who took 12 students to a welding competition in Alvarado to compete against students from across the state. TISD students took home three of the top 10 spots and six of the top 20. Each of these students received an industrial welding certification for their performance at the event. Congratulations to Tyler Cruz, Clayton Crow, Dakota Rucker, Bryant Weatherly, Joseph Hernande, Alexis Escobedo, and Logan Holt. Since 2018 the Excellence Foundation has presented over $70,000 in grants to help this department. The latest grant was sponsored by the Terrell Economic Development Corp. for $29,000 toward a new plasma cutter table. (TISD SOCIAL MEDIA)
