St. Martin Catholic Church in Talty is doing its part in helping to feed people in need by offering a food giveaway every first Saturday of the month.

Live competitions, packed auditoriums, holiday concerts, and more all felt the burden of COVID-19 this year, but that did not stop the students and directors of the Terrell ISD Fine Arts department from rising to the challenge and pressing on with excellent showmanship.

The Texas Department of Transportation will begin repaving and adding shoulders to FM 1390 from State Highway 34 to FM 148 in Kaufman County. Ed Bell Construction Company is the contractor on this $7.6 million project.

Kaufman County and the state as a whole continue to see COVID-19 infection rates decrease and vaccination rates climb. As of April 26, Kaufman County had reported 52 estimated active cases, which continues a long decline from earlier this year.

Arrests: Jeremy Breon Barnett, 35, Kaufman, possession of a controlled substance (PG 2) more than a gram and less than four grams, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, criminal trespass, no driver’s license, speeding, expired registration, possession of drug paraphernalia.

A chilly Saturday morning didn’t stop racers from coming out to Ben Gill Park for the Fountain 5K Run/Walk.

This year, make plans to enjoy the 4th of July Fireworks display at a new location – Terrell Municipal Airport. A decision was made to relocate the show for safety concerns, considering the close proximity of the Timbers apartment complex, Furlough Middle School and the ExCEL Center.

The North Texas Antique Tractor and Engine Club’s Show, Pull and Swap meet will be held Saturday and Sunday June 12-13 at Ben Gill Park in Terrell. The show hours are Saturday, June 12 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 13 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
