Broadband survey data released by CN Texas

After months of data collection, Kaufman County, in partnership with Connected Nation Texas (CN Texas), has released the results of a comprehensive broadband survey and a subsequent Technology Action Plan designed to increase high-speed internet access and use. This countywide broadband assessment was generously funded by The Meadows Foundation, a grant making foundation based in Dallas.

Registration deadline nears for Nov. 8 election

October 11 is the deadline for Texans to register to vote ahead of critical state and local elections on November 8, 2022. Every eligible American voter should have the option to exercise his or her right to be heard at the ballot box, and to do so one must be registered.

Three inducted into TISD Hall of Honor

Terrell ISD is proud to announce the 2022 Terrell ISD Hall of Honor inductees, Dr. Beverly Burr, the Honorable Shelton Gibbs, and the Honorable Lance Gooden. The Hall of Honor was initiated in 2021 with Bernard Derrick as the first member to be inducted.

Mural Walk attracts visitors to historic downtown

awalker@cityofterrell.org Terrell’s First Mural Walk was a success, with an estimated parade of more than 100 people of all ages participating in the Sept. 17 event, cosponsored by the City of Terrell and The Terrell Chamber of Commerce. The self-guided tour allowed visitors to see Terrell’s collection of historic murals, view murals in progress and participate in a paint-by-number mural in South Alley.

BFTS Museum to host program on WWII parachute jumping

A video of the 75th anniversary re-creation of the D-Day parachute drop will be featured in a presentation at the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum’s Sept. 29 program on Parachutes of World War II. The event begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
