The Kaufman County A&M Club and Mothers Club together gave out $56,570 in scholarships to 54 Kaufman County students attending Texas A&M University this fall at the annual Kaufman County A&M Scholarship Banquet and Dinner held at the Kaufman Civic Center July 31. Julio’s Market catered the event.

Applications sought for District 5 opening

DAVID KAPITAN editor@terrelltribune.com Terrell will see a change to its leadership structure in the coming weeks with the expected appointment of a new council member to fill a vacancy created by the retirement of Tim Royse in late July. Royse had filled a variety of roles in city leadership positions over the years, ultimately ascending to a spot on the council representing District 5 in 2016.

DAVID KAPITAN Terrell ISD campuses have been a hive of activity in recent weeks, with teachers and staff making preparations for the start of the 2022-’23 school year. Those staffers have not been alone, however, as members of the Tiger Band have also been on site prepping for what is expected to be a busy fall marching season.
