TVFD responds to early morning call

Members of the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department had their hands full during the early morning hours July 8, responding to an illegal burn that got out of control and threatened nearby homes. According to a narrative published on the TVFD Facebook page, firefighters were dispatched just before 1 a.m.
An illegal burn that got out of control prompted TVFD firefighters to be summoned to an address along County Road 271 during the early morning hours July 8. Burglary suspects sought by Terrell PD

The Terrell Police Department took to social media this week, requesting the public’s assistance in identifying two females suspected of stealing items from a business located on American Way. In a Facebook post department officials stated, “On July 7, 2022 at approximately 1639 hours, two Hispanic females entered Ulta located at 670 American Way in Terrell.

County flood map finalized

New flood maps have been finalized and will become effective on Jan. 12, 2023, for Kaufman County, Texas. During the next six months, a FEMA compliance specialist will work with the community to update each floodplain ordinance and adopt these new flood maps.
